New international challenge for Adelasia of Torres. The Sardinian sailing team, founded by the entrepreneur Renato Azara with the aim of promoting Sardinia by sailing, has officially recognized the participation in the next Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, one of the renowned great classic races of the Mediterranean, scheduled from 3rd to 9th September in Porto Cervo under the patronage of the YCCS Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.
For the crew this is the return to house waters. After the debut in the Formenton trophy, third place overall and first class at the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2016, and before a triumphant Giraglia Rolex Cup, ended with the class's victory, in the overall ORC ranking and in the combined Inshore + offshore.
Now is the time for a new challenge. For the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, Adelasia will sail on board 70 feet of Pendragon designed by Laurie Davidson, owned by Nicola Paoleschi, recently coming from the second 151 consecutive real-time win, one the most beloved and competitive races on the national calendar.
The Adelasia di Torres participation at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, sponsored by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, is supported by the main sponsor Hotel Cala di Volpe in Porto Cervo, an active part of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club and by local partners as Navigo Sardegna, Mannalita, Shardana Wind and of course Cantiere Savona, as a support boat, with its LUXI33.
